2022 has begun and we remain in a continued state of uncertainty. Even though there are many activities we cannot participate in, our recommendation at Corbett Family Chiropractic for feeling more at ease is to control what you can in your environment. For example:
Setting regular wake-up and sleep routines will give you better quality sleep and more energy during the day. It can also improve your mood and fight off anxiety and depression.
Eating well, including watching your sugar and simple carbohydrate intake, and including fruits and vegetables will help your immune system stay strong and keep off unwanted weight.
Just because the gyms are closed (again) does not mean exercise needs to stop. There are many great free resources, for all levels of fitness, available on the internet. Here are two of our favourites:
Yoga. A great place to start is Yoga with Adriene which includes a 30-day yoga journey. According to Adriene, “it’s never too late to create long term change. This program is an invitation to move better, feel better, and improve brain and body function significantly”. https://www.youtube.com/user/yogawithadriene
Pilates. If you have ever wanted to try Pilates, Cassey offers a Pilates Workout for Beginners. You’ll work your abs, legs, and arms. Principles such as proper breathing, posture, and form are explained in detail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCg_gh_fppI.
If you are looking for movements you can do on your own, we can help guide you with a plan! Email us and let us know what you are looking for and what your goals are.
What You Need to Start Moving
All you will need is a step or stairs, a chair, and the floor! No fancy equipment is required. It doesn’t take much to get your body moving – you just have to move it – and as Chiropractors, we can help!
What’s New at Corbett Family Chiropractic?
We continue to be open. We are essential health care providers, and we are here for you. The office continues to function safely and efficiently on a reduced schedule with the reception area closed and the door locked in-between appointments to limit contact between patients.
New software called Jane. As many of you now know, we have a new software program that makes booking appointments and billing for insurance easier for everyone! Stay tuned for additional features such as text reminders and online booking.
Think You Might Have COVID?
With more and more people contracting the new Omicron variant, you may be wondering, “what do I do if I feel sick?” Read the COVID-19-Symptoms-Chart produced by the Ontario Government showing symptoms of COVID and what to do about them. Stay safe. Wash your hands. Wear a mask. Be vigilant.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Take care and keep moving.
