Foot Pain: Oh My Aching Feet

Foot PainDo you have sharp pain in your foot as soon as you step down getting out of bed?  Even if you have never had foot pain prior to this moment, you could be experiencing the onset of Plantar Fasciitis. According to the Mayo Clinic, “Plantar fasciitis (PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis) involves pain and inflammation of a thick band of tissue, called the plantar fascia, that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain.”

Foot Pain

Chances are morning foot pain won’t be the first pain you will experience with Plantar Fasciitis, but it is usually the pain that stays with you the longest. Once the tissue in the foot is warmed up from movement, the pain will usually subside.  Quite often the pain returns throughout the day if you have been on your feet for some time or have walked a distance in unsupported shoes. Even the type of shoe you wear can contribute to problems.

Help With Foot Pain

The Graston Integrated Soft Tissue Technique (aka Graston Technique), offered by Chiropractors Dr. Jim Corbett and Dr. Kathleen Nazar Corbett, can be very helpful. Research has shown that Graston Technique can help beyond traditional physical therapy treatments.

Usually within 6-12 treatments, the foot pain is reduced dramatically and the mobility and flexibility of the foot is improved.
